New Orleans Saints vs. Las Vegas Raiders – 8:15 pm Monday September 21
Any Touchdown Scored – Latavius Murray +210
Vegas baby! Vegas! All eyes will be on the primetime bright lights for this week’s Monday Nighter and there is no brighter place on the planet then Las Vegas for the Raiders Sin City debut.
Despite signing all-world running back Alvin Kamara at the 11th hour before Week 1, the Saints seem content spreading the ground game around. Latavius Murray actually out-rushed Kamara in New Orleans’ season-opening win over Brady’s Buccaneers. Murray rushed 15 times for 48 yards while the $75 million dollar man ran for 16 yards on 12 attempts. Kamara was much more involved in the passing game, catching five balls including a touchdown pass while Murray did not make a reception.
Nfl Player Prop Bets 2020 Week 1
Murray’s former team allowed 129 rushing yards in Week 1, albeit to Christian McCaffrey, Teddy Bridgewater and the Carolina Panthers. Pre Las Vegas, the Raiders were in the bottom half of the league in rushing touchdowns allowed in 2019.
You can bet Murray will be jacked to face the team that drafted him back in 2013. While he may lose goal-line carries to Kamara the former Raider did have five scores last year and has a career-long run of 90 yards.
Michael Thomas, who set the NFL record with 149 catches last year while putting up an insane 1,725 receiving yards is listed as doubtful on the injury report. Even though there have been reports of Thomas feeling “fantastic” in practice this week it was initially reported the star wideout would miss several weeks with a high ankle sprain. If he does somehow suit up, Thomas will undoubtedly be limited giving the Saints another reason to keep the ball on the ground.
Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 1:00 pm – Sunday September 20
Tom Brady – Over 276.5 passing yards (-110)
After a subpar Week 1 everyone is wondering if this is the year Tom Brady falls off or if he can do it without Bill Belichick. Both, fair thoughts following a two-interception performance where Brady was sacked three times against the Saints. Keep in mind New Orleans boasts a solid defense that finished third in the league with 51 sacks and in the top half of the NFL in interceptions last year. Carolina is no New Orleans.
The Panthers have just one interception in their past 6 games and only seven sacks in their past five. Brady should have ample time to sit back in the pocket and test out some of his brand-new toys against a below-average Carolina pass rush.
Best Nfl Prop Bets
One of those shiny new receivers may not suit up Sunday. Chris Godwin returned to practice Friday but is listed as doubtful while in the concussion protocol. Justin Watson could start in the slot should Godwin and his 1,333 yards from a season ago not be able to see the field.
Even without Godwin, Brady has plenty of weapons at his disposal including Mike Evans. The deep-threat receiver will be looking to bounce back after a one catch, 2-yard performance last week. Granted his late catch pleased fantasy owners (yours truly included) being a touchdown. A breakout game against a team he averaged almost 80 yards per game last year seems likely. Evans is the outright favorite at (-105) to reach the endzone in this one.

Don’t forget, Brady has been written off before following a substandard season opener. In 2017 Brady was battered by the Chiefs in a brutal 42-27 loss where his quarterback rating was just 70. Like in his Bucs debut Brady was sacked three times in that game. A week later, ironically against the Saints, Brady dropped 447 yards passing.
