The NFL is offering up a two-game Turkey Day fare. We should be truly thankful there is still football and football wagering opportunities amid the chaos of 2020. Below, we look at four NFL player prop bets for the Thanksgiving slate.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. ET.

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson to score a touchdown (-112)

The Texans’ current lead back has found his way into the end zone only once on 75 touches this season; however, Thursday’s matchup against the Detroit Lions looks to be the perfect quencher for Johnson’s TD thirst. The Lions have surrendered a league-high 19 total touchdowns (14 rushing, five receiving) to opposing running backs — four more than any other team.

With the Texans pegged to score a Thursday-high 27 points as implied by the contest’s point spread (3-point favorites) and total (51.5), it’s not hard to imagine Johnson accounting for at least six of those points.

If you’re feeling especially frisky, take a shot on Johnson to score the Texans’ first TD (+450) and/or the game’s first TD (+800), as well.

Washington Football Team RB Antonio Gibson OVER 12.5 rushing attempts (-134)

Gibson has had 13 or more rushes in five of 10 games this season, including three of his last four.

That span started in Week 7 as the rookie running back hit season highs with 20 carries and 128 rushing yards in a 25-3 thrashing of these same Cowboys, who have faced the second-most RB rushing attempts (266 in 10 games) in the league and have surrendered the second-most running back rushing yards (1,260).

Expect Washington to give Gibson plenty of cracks at an encore performance in what should be a tight contest Thursday.

Dallas Cowboys QB Andy Dalton UNDER 252.5 passing yards (-110)

Few may guess Washington permits the league’s fewest passing yards per game at only 195.4 per contest.

Dalton was knocked out the Week 7 matchup with Washington early due to a concussion and finished with 75 yards on 9-for-19 passing, and he’s thrown for 266 and 203 yards in his only two full games with Dallas this season. The 266 yards came in Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals, but it took Dalton a whopping 54 attempts and 34 completions to get there in the 38-10 loss.

Expect the Cowboys to be much more balanced Thursday in an evenly matched game as they try to attack Washington’s relatively more permissive run defense with RBs Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard.

Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup longest reception OVER 18.5 yards (-125)

In six of the nine games where Gallup has a reception this season (Washington, ironically, was the only defense to hold him catchless), his longest gain was at least 19 yards.

The speedy Gallup owns a career yards-per-reception average of 16.2 yards (16.0 this season), and 35 of his 130 career catches (26.9%) have covered at least 20 yards.
